difference between trailer and title sequence

From watcing the title sequence you can see, that its more like an equivalent of an illustration on a book. It is the first thing we see when watching a movie and it shows all the names of the people that were involved in either making or taking part in the film. Most of the time there is music playing in the background just so the audience doesn't get bored. Also the titles may be used artistically by having them on top of filming, to make it look more interesting for the people watching.

On the other hand a trailer all most always takes the best scenes from the film and put them together to make a montage of clips. The trailers always make the audience ask questions and want to watch the film, because they want to know what happens. They will also use quite fast paced editing to only show a part of the film rather than the whole scene to draw the audience in.
